Description/Job Summary


The IT Specialist maintains the Association’s IT systems ensuring system security and availability, identifies and addresses technology needs, and develops and prepares reports from multiple databases.


Systems Support

  • Manages user permissions, including Sailpoint administration and systems onboarding
  • Meets with new hires to ensure all systems function as needed
  • Coordinates with HR to ensure appropriate authorities are assigned or revoked for new and departing employees including alarm system administration
  • Administers Sharepoint including user access, site maintenance and maintaining content
  • Maintains and tracks inventory of technology devices
  • Coordinates user and network technical support with AgFirst

Security and Business Continuity

  • Coordinates the execution of the cyber security plan
  • Reviews, recommends updates and maintains the Information Security Manual, Business Continuity Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan and Incident Response Plan
  • Conducts quarterly security reviews of individual systems, with approval from business system owners
  • Enhances security through on-going risk assessment, remediation activities, IT vendor management, and recommendations for improvements to policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with IT general controls for protecting sensitive information and providing least privilege access to employees
  • Ensures compliance with fixed asset policy for securely destroying devices that house confidential information
  • Monitors data loss prevention and notifies employee and manager when an incidence occurs
  • Completes vulnerability scans and remediates issues identified
  • Tracks, reports and monitors phishing incidents and campaigns


  • Uses SQL to develop and run reports utilizing multiple databases which provide required information to decision makers

Process Improvement

  • Maintains regular communication with Association leaders to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, IT enhancements and IT training needs
  • Monitors IT systems’ performance and availability: identifies, recommends and implements enhancements


  • Identifies staff knowledge gaps related to data loss prevention, phishing and related security issues
  • Develops training materials to educate employees and mitigate cybersecurity and IT risks
  • Shares monthly security topic with employees to increase awareness

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, cyber security or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Working knowledge of cyber security trends and best practices
  • Working knowledge of SQL sufficient to develop operational reports
  • Working knowledge of database structures
  • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution 
  • Skill in oral and written communication, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers and supervisor
